this guy is fucking retarded, no where does he mention the caliber of teams morrison has had to face through out the season

redick, hands down, player of the year, yet he seems to think its no contest for morrison

Redick played in a tougher league but he also had a better supporting cast, including an AP All-American center.

who would you rather have on your team?

^ that has nothing to do with college player of the year .. its this past season, not what you think they will do in the future

Redick:

texas - 41
georgetown - 41
indiana - 29
bc - 28
bc (acc championship) - 26
maryland - 27, 35
virginia - 40 (13 shots)
unc - 35

not to shabby either against some much better teams.

Why do people always go with the supporting cast argument as if Redick should be considered less because of that. Sure, if you're talking wins and success overall, having a better supporting cast makes things easier.

But when you're looking at pure points, having Shelden Williams on your team lowers your point totals instead of raising it, because your supporting cast takes more shots and scores more.

Morrison plays lower caliber teams and has less of a supporting staff, therefore his point totals aren't nearly as impressive as JJ's.

jp batista averaged 20 points a game this year, don't forget about him.

Both guys had the ball in their hands when the game was on the line. The competition arguement is strong, but I don't think it tells who is better. Morrison was triple teamed most of the time in the WCC and still lit it up. Also, he lit it up against some pretty damn good teams (listed above).

It's a toss up in my mind.
