its too modern for me...most recognizable, yeah....but not most famous.

Augusta has 4 or 5 holes more famous...and not to mention some of the famous holes on the regular courses for the British Open.

I know. It kinda starts at Kapalua (sp?), but the only other real events between then and the players championship are Bay Hill(last week), and Doral...sorta. Doral has been shitty the past few years though.

Umm, Pebble Beach anyone? Most holes are far more recognizable than 17 at Sawgrass. And the tourney has more prestige than all before TPC.

The LA Open and Nissan Open are big too

AT&T Pebble Beach
Nissan Open
Accenture Match Play
Doral
Bay Hill

I know this tourney gets a lot of hype because the media calls it the 5th major, but it is by no means the "start of the season"

Dude, you know what I'm saying. It was an overstatement, but you have to admit, this is the first of 5 really big tournaments, and plus, its GOLF SEASON, meaning the weather is turning right about now. It wasn't totally directed at the tour.


Yes, those are pretty big events, but everyone is still gearing up for this stretch of the season, starting...well pretty much last week and going through the PGA.

there are big tournaments after the PGA also, but its still not as big as these next few months....although I'd rather see the golf that closes the season than the golf that opens the season.

The course looks like its in incredible condition this year.


I know its usually one of the better conditioned non-major tournaments along with The Memorial, but DAMN. The grass looks perfect.

Seems like a nice guy, and I like his swing. Its not as pretty as most, but its simple and balanced. Hopefully that double bogey wont get to him.
