This is a project I've been working on with a few other folks. Ok, so it probably won't save anything. BUT, it will provide people with the ability to see what will be lost.

The Forest Image Registry is a central location for citizens to document and appreciate the US National Forest Lands which are now up for public sale before they are gone.

The Sierra Club (http://sierraclubplus.org/forests/maps/) has put together a GoogleEarth tour of all the USDA forest lands for sale (http://www.fs.fed.us/land/staff/spd.html), as well as the local representative for each parcel.

We would like to encourage Americans to send copies of their personal photos, images of the forests they've visited, etc. Adding your pictures to the F.I.R. project and sharing them freely with the world will perhaps help us learn to appreciate America's National Forests before they are changed forever.

Please send submissions to: submissions@forestimages.org You can also just post them on your own Flickr! account and tag them

* forestimages
* Then add more detailed tags if you can, such as
* fir:forest=ForestName
and/or
* geo:lat=18.335
* geo:lon=-65.765
and/or
* fir:state=StateName
