So the cd burner on my computer just decided to stop working one day... Says any blank cd i put in it is a CD-RW (wrong media) when it's really a CD-R. Anybody got any ideas?

"stop working" and "not recognizing the correct media" are two different concepts.

1) Does the CD burner read normal cds?
2) Does the CD burner read already burned cds?
3) Does the CD burner read blank cds?

Answer those questions first and then maybe we can help you a bit more.

The cd burner does everything but burn cds. It will read everything normal, even a blank cd. It doesn't "recognize the correct media."

Try finding the most up to date drivers/firmware for your CD drive. Also, for clairification, what kinds of cd drive, what OS, what cd burning program?
