Is NOT the culprit.
I didn't think it was, it's still too cold here. Dad broke out on his upper body.
Now I have blisters on my elbow... with no known exposure to any plant.

you can still get poison oak/ivy from handling the rest of the plant, even dead plants.
has he mowed the lawn, cleared brush, burned brush?
has he been where there is some?

cold has nothing to do with it. it just means there aren't any leaves to brush against. if you were clearing the vine from somewhere it is quite easy to get the oil on you and the oil is what causes the.
And even if you had touched him, poison ivy does not spread from person to person once the oil is washed off with warm soapy water. But the oil would stay on clothes and such (like a coat or what not) and you could have brushed against that.
has your elbow come in contact with any chemicals recently?

if it's scabies....welcome to hell
if thats it and you let it alone, it will not go away but will spread to cover your whole body from the neck down and you will want to throw yourself off a very tall cliff to end the misery
it takes prescription drugs to get rid of, but is easy to diagnose and clears up fast once treated
if it's poison ivy, brown apple cider vinegar will clear it up in less than 48 hours 3/28/2006 5:53:26 PM |

You wont get scabies on your elbow without it being all up in your fingers and armpit first. 3/28/2006 8:53:47 PM |
