anybody got experience with Acomdata? none of the guys I work with have ever heard of them.

Compusa has a 250GB AcomData hard drive on sale this week - $99. http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=318391&pfp=cat3
I'm wondering if it's even worth buying . . . They sell them at Best Buy and CompUSA, and through amazon. No one had reviewed this product on amazon tho - thought someone on here might have some advice

That tells you it's crap. Never touch an external 3.5" drive without active cooling.

^ shut your hole...while in most cases, i'd agree with you, if the external hd is in an aluminum case (NOT PLASTIC) you don't need a fan on it (though it can't hurt)...i'm actually talking from experience of having 6 (count them, SIX) external hard drives in fanless aluminum enclosures and they have been doing wonderfully for more than 2 years

Acomdata uses whatever hd deal they can get...but it'll PROBABLY have a seagate drive in it
