Haha. Ball State. Apparently he's from Indiana.

But still...I would never leave Wilmington to coach Ball Fucking State. UNCW has to feel like shit. They win the conference championship, lose in the first round after building an 18 point lead, their conference foe gets to the final four, and their program is again used a stepping stone (first Richmond and now Ball State).

What's worse is that they are a stepping stone for programs that aren't really that great. It really doesn't make sense to me.

We have a professor who has patents used today in the modern "plasma television".

That's tight.

Oh, but David Thompson.

There might be some personal reasons to go there; maybe family or something. Theres probably more to the story.

ball state paid their coach last year 131,000. UNCW paid brad 250,000. He is an idiot if he leaves even if they pay him more. I know he is from IN but this is the 2nd time this has happened. Jerry Wainwright went from assistant at Wake to head coach at UNCW and got them big time in the tourney four years in a row. Then he left for richmond which he used as a stepping stone to get back to chicago and depaul...now this. If UNCW could keep a coach for more than 10 years like we have at state they'd do some things. Sad thing is UNCW is only one tourney behind the pack since 2000. 5-4. Now I understand where some of the alumni here get pissed.

As far as NCSU alumni, dont forget Dr. Jerry Punch.

And when you mentioned John Tesh, Bill Leslie called and wanted to remind everyone that John Tesh was his roommate in college .

it's a new AD. they worked together under wainwright when he was still the coach. they haven't gotten along since then. the old ad LOVED to make our program succeed but her and the chancellor didn't get along AT ALL.

UNCW's old AD was the shit. Depaulo I think???

I think the Chancellor was jealous of her or something. It really made no sense. Most of the men's and athletic teams were doing well on the field and in the classroom. But she got ran the fuck out of town.

Per CBS:

In the past five hours, we have learned the two names atop the Seahawks' list. The first, and favorite, is Texas assistant Rodney Terry, who worked for Jerry Wainwright at UNCW from 1998-2002. The other is Benny Moss, a Charlotte assistant who has known UNCW athletic director Mike Capaccio since he recruited Capaccio's players at Indiana Hills Junior College a decade ago.
