Who are the funniest profs? I want to do a study on what types of humor teachers use in the classroom, or what purpose their humor uses. So please help me out and post the names od professors you've had that are particularly funny. Thanks.

Dr. Hunt and sex jokes. Shakespeare provides him alot of material. Also using old british witty insults against his students in a more hip way than most people would take the jokes based off the way shakespeare was taught in middle and high school.

Dr. Jesseph (teaches ancient philosophy) is pretty good too. He can get you pretty deep into serious philosophy stuff, and then turn it around to make everyone look like idiots.

Dr. Michael Adams: History of the English Language, Chaucer, Modern English

Dr. Sidney Johnson: Teaching Writing, Teaching Methods

Dr. Sorenson: Entomology

Most of my professors' humor has been either word play or anecdotes.

Kaltofen is just sort of insane, Austrian funny. Lasher is more sarcastic funny.

This guy is one of the funniest I've had. He simultaneously gives the impression of not giving a chunk while also giving the impression that he wants us to learn.

Also, Michael Adams is very funny. He's been on the Colbert Report a couple times this semester, but he's switching away from NC State after this semester.

Egler teaches astronomy classes. He makes really corny and really bad jokes. But they usually fit the subject material and they are so bad that they are kind of good sort of like how pugs can be so ugly that they’re kind of cute. I think the setting of a very relaxed classroom also makes jokes go over better. Its more common and easier to laugh aloud when others are around, and with auditorium type seating, there are plenty of others around.

i'm gonna cosign Dr. Jesseph and add Political Science's emeritus Abraham Holtzman. Jesseph would pwn people and then call "next." Holtzman is probably gone though since he'd been here since the 50s.

I had honors intro to econ. I think it may have been with a Criag, but I'm not sure. He was funny compared to the engineering class professors I had experienced to that point. But nothing beats the combination of a funny person with a english professors way with words.

The econ professor I had also built up a white foamy stuff at the side of his mouth and it spit out across the crowd ocassionally. As an honors class the first few rows were filled in the early days, but quickly there grew to be a 2 row destudenterized zone to avoid the flying spittle.

Czarnecki (BUS 480) is hilarious in class....he makes the greatest sound effects ever.

Favre (BUS 370, 495K, etc.) is also hilarious when he wants to be.

Both are great, great folks.
