he's a very smart guy - his english could use a a LOT of work - he can't even pronounce the word integer correctly - he teaches the class that 405 is a prereq for 474
he uses some amazing curve system - i took the 474 when it was grouped with 574 in the same classroom - 70ish on the first test and then a 60 then a high 40 - probably a 70 or so on the final - b+ final grade 3/29/2006 2:07:33 PM |

Check with one of the two CSC advisors for who is actually teaching that course. Ning may be listed as the faculty member, but it may be somebody else teaching it; Ning may just be supervising. Harfoush is listed as the current Spring 2006 instructor, but I don't believe that who's teaching the course on a day-to-day basis.
^ Agree with Omar ... Ning's research is highly theoretical and won a couple of NSF awards. Probably a good person to get to know if you enjoy the theoretical side of security.

He probably isn't really teaching it. He ususally is working with the PhD level students...he used to be listed as the teacher, but Julie Starr actually taught it...he also used to be listed with the security lab that you could take after 405, but a TA taught it. I know Julie and the TA are both now gone, so I don't know who would be teaching it now...but it's probably not really Ning.
