Wolfline's TVS is now available for cell phones http://ncsu.transloc-inc.com/alternate.html
To use both the text [ http://ncsu.transloc-inc.com/t/ ]version and the "mobile" [ http://ncsu.transloc-inc.com/m/ ] version, you'll have to use mobile internet and be at least somewhat familiar with the bus route, and the side streets.
I gave it a test run, and checked the wolflink shuttle, and village link, using the mobile version, and the total data transfer was 11152 bytes. Cingular users without a data plan pay 1cent/kb. 3/30/2006 1:38:26 PM |

that's pretty badass. I'll never use it because I don't have a data plan on my phone, but it is still awesome. 3/30/2006 2:13:46 PM |

so basically it costs about a dollar a week to know where your buses are with the comfort of your own phone?
my math was 5 days and checking twice a day which is 11 each time, so its really like 1.10 3/30/2006 4:19:07 PM |

Oh, people will use it.
God knows I've wondered plenty of times where in the hell that damn bus was, and sometimes, it's worth some change to know if you're better off to start hoofing it. 3/30/2006 4:54:56 PM |

so bascially you'll have more evidence that the bus drivers suck and that the company/school will do nothing. 3/31/2006 10:37:43 AM |

if you dont feel like typing all that shit in the little browser send a plain text e-mail (no html) to
yournumber@messaging.nextel.com
then book mark it when it comes up or go back to the text message to click the link.
most carriers have this capability but you will have to check online for what the e-mail adress is to your phone. 3/31/2006 11:44:40 AM |
