over the last few years, i've been a herb supporter. i think he has done a lot for the program, and at some point in time down the road, state fans will embrace that.

that being said, at this point i don't really want him back. i'm glad he left, at least somewhat, on his own terms. after all he's done here, he deserved not to be fired or pushed out.

in the end though, and i think we can all agree on this, i will support nc state a lot more than i'll support herb sendek or any coach. i hope state gets a good coach, and i hope that state fans can move on and stop fighting about whether or not herb should still be here.

at this point i thank herb and what he's done, but i am no longer a herb supporter. i am fully behind whoever our next coach will be. let's move on.

Yes i cant believe that we wont win 20 games next year, 10 against cupcake teams, guaranteed losing to unc twice and duke, be ranked in the 20s some of the year, lose in the second round, have at least a couple bad losses, and watch the fuckin princeton offense. Think about all the games that we pulled out of our ass this year: Clemson, Miami, UVa, Maryland. Think about the horrible timeouts against BC when we didnt get off a shot and tell me that we wont get someone better. Think about getting pounded against Texas because Herb was too stuborn to keep doing what worked (running with fells and grant).

Herb had peaked. If all you wanted was the type of years weve had over the last few, then Herb was your guy. Now at least we have a chance for something more.

FSN, Florida Sports, the sports talk guys here in Miami- all of them make the open coaching job in Raleigh seem like a VERY attractive job. I am sure its the same elsewhere around the country.

A lot of you guys are making this look like the apocalypse. I liked Herb- BUT HE IS GONE. NC State is ready for something new. There is no damn way NC State is going to end up with a sub-par coach.

He was usually going to get us to the NCAA's, maybe a 2nd round appearance, and every decade or so, we would go Sweet 16. That was it.

I would rather aim slightly higher.
