My boyfriend and I have looked all over Glenwood and at the flea market for a sofa. We want a black one and it seems that no one makes them in that color except in leather. We are willing to pay more if we find one we like...anyone know of any hidden hot spots? Thanks. 4/2/2006 5:39:38 PM |

theres a nice furniture place at the corner of tryon and cary parkway that had some nice sofa's... and then Ethan Allen is always the expensive option... most places can also order any color fabric on the basic frame and style that they have in the store... 4/2/2006 6:23:20 PM |

Unless you're going for a specific style, you could probably find a sofa cover in black. 4/2/2006 6:52:05 PM |

you've probably looked but craigslist raleigh has a lot of sofas. It just takes time + patience.
My boyfriend looked sectionals for about three weeks and then finally found the perfect one for his place. 4/2/2006 6:57:40 PM |

Looked at Craig's List...I will keep checking back there. We currently have a sofa with a slip cover on it and my boyfriend can't stand it, therefore we are trying to find a new one. 4/2/2006 7:21:17 PM |

No animals and no bodily fluids, so I think we're good. Tan is just so hideous, but if we can't find black at all I guess we'll have to get that. I'll check out that furniture emporium. 4/3/2006 8:11:42 AM |

you can go to pretty much any furniture store and order whatever they have on the showroom in a variety of fabrics and colors for pretty much the same price they have listed. just ask to see their fabric swatches. 4/3/2006 9:45:50 AM |

You could try Furniture Liquidation Warehouse.... you're never guaranteed to find anything, but maybe worth a shot if you've haven't found anything elsewhere. Also, not sure what style you're looking for... but IKEA had lots of different black and dark grey couches on their website. They don't look awfully comfortable, but who knows. But I will vouch that a tan based color will hide your stains infinitely better than black... black will highlight any pet hair, fuzz, lint, and stains... I wouldn't recommend it (although if I were getting leather I would definitely go black or dark brown) 4/3/2006 11:14:17 AM |

I would try Carolina Sofa Company on Glenwood. I know that you said that you already looked on Glenwood, but I just got a really awesome sectional there and most of the furniture they sell can be covered in a multitude of colors and types of fabric. They have these little sheets with blocks of fabric on them to show you all of your choices. 4/3/2006 11:19:29 AM |

There is a furniture store on Glenwood. I think its called home comfort. it is right after you pass pleasant valley and walmart. They told us that they can order most of the sofas in different colors and fabric. 4/3/2006 11:38:25 AM |

try checking http://raleigh.craigslist.org/fur/ daily-- you can find some sweet moving sales on there.. I got a $2000 leather loveseat and couch set for like half the price because i picked it up in a hurry.(ah the benefits of having a pick up truck) 4/3/2006 4:51:07 PM |

I keep checking Craig's list every so often.
^And seeing as I've only dated 4 people in my life and the last one for 5 years, I don't think they are too worried about my judgement. Now if I were dating a prick like you, they'd probably have a problem with that. 4/4/2006 12:13:29 AM |
