...alright, who do you guys use?

What are the rates, fees, etc? What's the best deal?

There are a crapload of choices and some of them look like they might be hit or miss.

I know some of ya'll have had experiences with them; what's involved in setting them up?

Mike

Try not to go through your bank. They skim a percentage off the top as a middle man. Direct processing is gonna be the cheapest way to go. Look for a processor that provides hardware, doesn't charge a flat fee in addition to a percentage per transaction on credit card processing, doesn't hold you to a minimum monthly volume, and supports debit cards.

GOOD LUCK WITH ALL THAT BULLSHIT

Let me clarify a bit, btdub...

...this will be for online purchases only.

Change anything?

And thanks, Frosh.

depends a lot on how down and dirty in the code you want to get. High level, just go with a yahoo store. Verisign has some pretty high level offerings too. Below that it gets pretty basic. I'll be researching this stuff in a couple of months again, its been about 3 years since I did a real thorough look through merchants. I'll post back here if no one else answers by then

Haha, I appreciate that.

I'd rather stay close to top-level so I don't have to delve into too much coding. There are a couple pay solutions (read: basic e-commerce cart setups...)around $100 that'll do the job in terms of integration through dreamweaver.

BUT, as for the integration of a payment gateway, I'm then adding more fees on top of it and it begins to get more expensive.
