**WARNING - SOCCER THREAD**

anyone see these commercials on tv yet? I've been seeing the one with Ronaldinho playing some indoor soccer on tv for the past week or so, but I went to nikesoccer.com and there are a good 10-15 other commercials that they've filmed for this whole Joga Bonito campaign. Getting me pumped up for the World Cup

ive seen the brazil-portugal "ole!" commercial...but not this one.

the one ive seen has both teams playing all over the stadium concourse.

ive wondered, that commercial that has ronaldinho nailing shot after shot off the crossbar...how real is that? if hes really doing that the entire time with no editing, then all those who are fans of soccer should bow to this man

All those who are soccer fans already bow to this man. The mot skilled soccer player in the world tag is something that cannot be diputed. JOGA BONITO or PLAY BEAUTIFUL is a campaign launched to get rid of diving/cheating/cheap shots/unsportsman like conduct in soccer. Diving is something thats the main focus, since its become more of an issue lately. Nike also has an awesome 3v3 tournament that starts soon, the closest to us will be in New York, but they always have these tourneys before the world cup, some of the sickest skills you will see from ordinary people like us. HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE SOCCER!!!! IT'S ONLY THE WORLDS MOST POPULAR SPORT!!! OLE!!!!

it seems pretty easy to cut diving out of soccer...seems that FIFA would just need to set harsh rules for it...whether that be yellow or red card during the game, fine or suspend player after the game if ref missed it

i imagine many might say, "oh well, there is ambiguity in deciding what is a dive and what isnt." but most of it is pretty clear cut on replay. these are guys playing a sport, if they are afraid to get tackled and would rather flop around, then they deserve to be suspended and whatnot. id rather see my favorite player suspended for a game for diving then see him fall to the ground from a phantom tackle to cheat the other team in favor of a penalty or free kick...it has gotten ridiculous
