Seriously, I hope he does go to Arizona State. I want to see them do well. I have always supported Herb and will continue to do so.

I will probably pull for ASU against anyone besides us.

Big question is where is he going? If to GT(his 2nd choice), then watch out, they will be Nastaaay next year with all that young talent.

Maybe he has been talking with Rick Barnes and is coming here along with him?

^ either option is null since i dont think players can transfer within a conference,
I'd guess he's leaving because coach K has found someone else to better serve him in that scholarship slot- at least hes not trying to go pro like shavlik when the same thing happened to him, maybe he still has time to play and get attention.

if they transfer within their conference they have to sit out two years instead of one like they would if they transfered to like say an sec school or big 12

kind of a stupid move, b/c he would have prolly gotten some minutes next year if he was worth a damn, and if not next year than the year after when he would be eligable to play somewhere else.

he wouldn't have played this year anyway...mcroberts, 7' freshman brian zoubek, and boykins will be down low and all would have been ahead of boateng on the depth chart.

duke will run a lot with gerald williams (vince carter like), jon scheyer (quicker, more athletic chris collins), greg paulus, demarcus nelson, david mcclure (who was playing really well before his injury) and martynus pocius.

that gives duke a LOT of question marks this year, but it should be a faster style of play than the last few years with shelden and jj.

"Also, there's been much talk that freshman starter Josh McRoberts might decide to leave for the NBA. In my mind, he's not nearly ready, but I'm not a pro scout. A lot of so-called NBA draft sites having him going high. And since when has it mattered if someone is ready? The Pros like his size and agility. Who do you think was more ready after his freshman year: Luol Deng or McRoberts? If he does project high though, it is hard to turn down the money.
"

Interesting.. I would love to see Mcroberts take off...

Luol Deng was much more prepared for the NBA than McRoberts is right now. All I see from him is that he can dunk and disappear in a game when it counts.

A lot of questionable kids are going to enter the draft this year. This is the weakest the draft has been in awhile, so I think kids are going to take thier chance on getting drafted higher than they're worth.

First of all Laettner is 6-10, SheWill is listed at 6-9, not even close to 7 feet. The real beasts of Duke's history are Erik Meeks and Greg Newton, nuff said. You can find those guys all over posters. Course they are of Tim Duncan absolutely demoralizing them, but hey, it's still an accomplishment.
