they pull you over then say the plate has to be in a visible spot. they pulled me over last night for it, here's my plate..companies even manufacture brackets to place them on the swing arm



also my friend on his 929 got pulled over tonight bc his was in front of the rear wheel, although it is still visible.

is there a website that posts the regulations on motorcycle license plate placement, so when i get pulled again i can shove it in the cops face?

im wondering what the exact guide lines on plate placement are. ie if it only has to be lighted, and if "a visible spot" is up for stipulation..


i was pulled by a raleigh, cary, and morrisville cop, asked them all about my plate placement they said it was totally fine.

Any ticket or just another warning? I've never been pulled for illegal plate placement. In fact, your the only person I know that's been, 4 times now. lol. They prolly think your stunting and stop you. And we all know you gave that up after the 3rd wheelie.

no i got pulled over 2x's in one night for my tail light being broken, then a 3rd time on my bike by ncsu cops for the plate placement/speeding/stop sign.

they gave warnings, then said the next time they will give a ticket.

well I think you're pretty much asking for it when you mount it sideways like that. and from a car, having it mounted flat on the swingarm like that makes it pretty hard to see.

license plates, whether on car, truck, or motorcycle, must be visible. dont know the code offhand, but i know it is an officer's discretion type language.

a buddy of mine used to pull people with those duck head things on their trailer balls behind the license plate and remove them because it obstructed the plate.

plates are meant to be scanned and remembered quickly... not analyzed and imagined right-side-up

I've never understood why people do shit like that to their plates. it's aesthetically unpleasing and only attracts more attention from the cops in the long run.

Well.. kyle doesn't have any place else to put the plate without getting a bracket. Its ziptied on the top and screwed on the botton directly on the swing arm.

The lighting thing on a motorcycle is bullshit. No motorcycle that I've seen comes with a light for the license plate, I know mine doesn't have it.
