You've got a friend, by Carol King.

That, in my book, is me and my dad's song.
Although come to think of it the version I'm familiar with has a male singer, maybe it was James Taylor who sang the version I like?

more modern, perhaps Anabella's Song by Everclear?

one of my first threads would be about getting married or my marriage

We are still debating between an MC or doing it ourselves. This has been a fun place to get an idea for wedding songs in general.

it is unique. they didn't want a boy. they did think i was going to be a boy, instead i was the first girl (on my father's side) in like 5 generations. I like my name. thanks to all of those with helpful advise.

I just heard "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw... it's got a little bit of a country twang to it but it's still nice

all i have to say is that i could never have butterfly kisses as my father/daughter song... it was a favorite song b/w my close friend and her father, and we she passed away last oct, they played it at her funeral. so yeah, when/if i ever hear that song, she's all I think about.

okay, that's the end of my depressing interruption of this thread.

i hope they come out with some less lame songs before i get married

music has been a big part of my life thanks to my dad so i will probably choose a song by one of the bands i listened to growing up, or one of the songs i remember him playing me on his guitar when i was little

i don't know if you have any favorite bands that your dad introduced you to, but maybe a song by one of them would be nice.

good luck finding a song!
