What are some bands where the drummer isn't behind the rest of the band members? Bands with two members don't count.

The Band. Levon Helm was usually on the right hand side of the stage, not to mention the fact that he sang lead too.

How about bands where the drummer sings lead vocals? Saw one of those once.

Mutemath...dude sits up front and knocks his equipment all over the stage. When the concert's over he carries his own stuff off, as if the roadies could be any rougher with it.

U2 brought Larry and a 3 or 4 piece drum set out to the front of the stage with Bono on the last tour.

Actually pretty cool.

Dave Lovering was never in the front, but when the stage was big enough they all set up in a line with the drum kit between Frank and Kim.

I suppose you could say that, although Phil didn't drum on everything. Chester Tompson did a lot of the drumming duties on stage while Phil was up front singing. Phil did drum and sing on a few songs though at the same time live.
