Ok, so http://www.digg.com is a great website that I recently discovered and registered for.
If you don't know what this is, basically you don't have to take news shoveled to you by corporations anymore...it's now the users who submit the news. If you like a story, you "digg" it. If a story is popular enough, it shows up on the front page. It's a whole new way to surf the net, called "social bookmarking". When you add friends to your profile, you can see what stories they have dugg and you might end up liking it yourself. Very cool way to see what kinda shit your friends are interested in.
If anyone likes the site and signs up, add me as a friend and I will add you back. Here's my page of dugg stories:

^ sometimes. its just the users who submit and eventually decide what's most important
spooky: yeah if you consider anything older than 1-3 years "not new". its all relative. i just wanted to introduce some non-"ahead of the curve" people to an awesome site

This is in no way better or more accurate that the "corporate mass media".
If anything, digg is even more susceptable to bias than the main outlets are. 4/11/2006 2:00:02 PM |
