Exceeded expectations??

I think a few people picked them to go to the tourney this year. They hit expectations or fell short as far as I'm concerned.

If you remember only 4 teams from the ACC made the tourney last year.

Which means they couldn't even make the tournament with a shitty ACC????

miami didnt make the tournament because they have no fans.

we took every home loss as a personal insult. they dont care. he will do a lot better with a program that cares.

The only reason why they were predicted 3rd was because of who the head coach was. When he originally showed up there two years ago he exceeded expectations. Haith would make a perfect fit.

You need to get Haith's dick out of your mouth.

They were picked 3rd because they had three ridiculous guards and a good big man.

Go get on Gillispie's nuts...that who we really need.

so we can have people complain about the offense again. Gillispie doesn't put up garish offensive numbers.

Also, do you want a coach that will only use this as a stepping stone? This is Haith's dream job and he wouldn't go anywhere else.

NBA or any number of places. Gillispie doesn't exactly have a reputation for staying around.

because he started at UTEP and then moved up to TAMU? he's only been a coach for 3 years. how in the hell can you call that jumping around? there arent very many better coaching jobs than the one here

Let's also think about it this way. TAMU has almost as much money at UT. We would not win the bidding war. Also, Gillispie doesn't know about life outside of Texas. Haith has been around and is a top recruiter. Give me Haith.

haith and gillispie are my top two now. i'd gladly take either. i like each better than the other for sepearte reasons.

i like gillispie's ability to flat out coach a team to immediate sucess, but he may be limited in recruinting outside of texas. plus he has all kinds of ties in texas and may not want to leave.

haith is a hell of a recruiter, and apparantly really really wants to be our coach. you really can't beat that attitude. i think he isn't quite as good as gillispie from a pure coaching ability standpoint, but he would probably look a lot better with the upgrade in talent he would get if he came here.

here's my outlook now:
1a Gillispie
1b Haith
2 ...
3 we lose

So you think it's okay to compare a guy's 13th season as a head coach to a guy's 2nd.

Herb had 10 years to build this program. Haith hasn't even played his players yet.

You can look the way miami plays to see that he isn't special. Their players rarely played like they gave a shit.

Furthermore, we are considering quite a few coaches who have accomplished more and show as much or greater promise. Marshall alone puts Haith to shame, and by all accounts, we just have to offer him the job. Marshall has actual wins in the NCAA tourney with lesser players.

Marshall wins with lesser talent. Haith loses with lesser talent.

Marshall's name always appears in coaching searches, but for some reason disappears. Also, Haith has only been a coach for 2 years and coaches in the ACC Marshall coaches in the Big South.

There isn't much if any difference between the competitiveness of bottom-feeder major conference teams and top mid major teams.

either way, you're not going to be able to evaluate these non-major teams from the internet. You have to look at the quality of the product they put on the court. Haith has done nothing to show that he is anything other than that guy who leads an acc bottom feeder.

Oh yeah...can this thread be locked??

One, because this guy already has an "I love it when Frank Haith's balls are in my mouth" thread.

Two, because we have better options for a coach and should use them before we settle on Haith.
