If you really want to sweat it, 20k can be paid off in less than 2 years on an average college grad salary. It's not as scary as it looks.

Undergrad from NC State: About $3,500
The rest was covered by a scholarship I was awarded...thank God for scholarships
My folks paid off the $3,500 as a sweeeeet graduation gift.

$32k either just above or below, nothing too hard to pay off in 3-5 years, i'm planning on living cheap and paying that off as i won't have any more credit card debt (woo hoo! ) as of June... not hard at all. 4/25/2006 8:09:06 PM |

while it would be nice (in theory) to have parents with the $$ to pay for my undergrad, i'm glad they did what they could, and i like knowing that I earned (and am paying for) this degree on my own.
i'll be even happier when I pay it all off though, no doubt! 4/28/2006 10:53:14 AM |

27k - Because I went to summer school every year (just so i would not have to had moved back to my slack town for the summer and wanted to stay around with friends), and I got a $2500 computer load. All in all, I could have avoided about 15k of this debt. On the bright side, I had fun, still have my rocking computer, I used my refunds to pay for my car and to live off of, and I only pay $188/month on this loan (or loans rather, but CFI consolidated them for me!). 4/28/2006 3:29:58 PM |

None of us had any debt when we graduated.
Although, my parents didnt like the 5 and a half year plan I was on towards the end. 5/1/2006 12:21:16 AM |
