I have an 01 BMW 325ci 5spd.

The shift knob occasionally pops off when driving somewhat aggresively, which isn't great. It'll pop back on and stay on if you pound it down some. When I looked at it when it came off, it looks like 2 of the 4 little notches around the rim to help lock it into place broke off (although I don't see them anywhere to super glue them back on). I searched lots of places online and can't find a replacement stock part (it has dark wood paneling on it and a black gear diagram). I know it will be pricey no matter what, but I just want a stock one to match my interior, not some brushed aluminum crazy racing one or anything. Anyone know anywhere besides the BMW dealer I can find one at? I mean, it's not visercal to get a new one/incredibly dangerous the way it is now, but I really don't think super gluing it in place will help much.

Can anyone help me?

Yeah, I'll buy the car from you and you won't have to worry about it any more.

yeah - that happened to my 540 every now and then - the little plastic tabs wear out and crack over time. a new wood one from the dealership is probably ~$80, looks like a plastic/leather one from bavauto.com is $50... your call.

wrap some electrical tape around the shaft, shove it on, done.

Just getting one from the dealer sounds like the best idea. All the ones on that website (which I had looked at before) aren't stock and are like $120 for the cheapest one.

I love my bimmer so much more than my 03 Eclipse GT (now traded in, RIP), even though it's slower
