says we are a top 15 job
says he wasn't the right guy for nc state
memphis and him aren't done
thinks he can win a national championship with his memphis team
said our accomodations were nice
had nothing to do with money
just wasn't right
says our coach is going to do well, whoever it is
close to accepting the job
admitted that he doesn't think he could beat unc or duke
considered his staff and players
made the right choice for nc state
accepted the memphis offer they gave before he talked to us

How can he say he can't compete with UNC and Duke, yet 20 seconds earlier he said he expects to win an national championship at Memphis????????????????????? He's such a god damn competitor, but he doesnt want the challenge of competing with those two teams. I dont get it.

Maybe he's not a fuckhead for not leading us on, cause it sounds like he was truly torn. But if this was one of the deciding factors, then I dont want him anyway.

hopefully he will lose to unc or duke in the coming years at a critical moment

and you can all masturbate together

and by "you all" i guess i mean the people that are actually mad about the decision the man made for himself and his family

i'm not mad because frankly i've quit caring

but weren't there rumors that he made us believe he was coming here before he left to go back to memphis

then when he got back he changed his mind?

he was leading us on. All this stuff is just damage control. I think the line about not competing with duke and UNC is purposefully designed to give us a reason to no feel bad about not getting him.

so why the fuck did he lead us on like he would come here then??

THIS is the reason I hate the guy...I really really hope we play Memphis in the NCAA's next year (when we make it) and blow them out

or because he knows that he'll pretty much own the conference and sure up a #1 tourney seed every year

and that'll make his chances of making the Final Four much easier...and after you make it that far, it's a crap shoot

And, I dont think this bullshit is damage control. He doesnt have to say shit to our fans, and the less he talks about it, the better for his own fans.

I think it might have been a publicity stunt to get the memphis name out there and do a little horn tooting.

I mean he's on ESPN what is this...4 days later?... talking about what a great job he has and he has national championship aspirations and the program is in such great shape and buddying up with Stephen A.....

to me that sounds like "I just turned down a great opportunity (bullshitting obvoiusly, he never wanted the job) to coach at a big time college basketball program in a big time basketball conference to stay at this top school in a shithole conference...and I want recruits now damnit"

All indications were that he originally contacted us about the job, not the other way around. Sadly, he did seem like the kind of guy who could florish at NC State if he wasn't such a chickenshit.

That's the point exactly. Memphis wasn't shit before he got there. We're in much better shape, and he could have us at the same level in 3 years.

Yeah I mean look at the teams with the best recruiting classes, UNC, Duke, Kansas...... Ohio State? Georgia Tech?

Not all recruits can or even want to go to the dominant programs.

Nobody. That's the problem. Crap conferences don't always get #1 seeds.
