OK SO I AM BUYING A NEW PC FOR MY HOUSE THIS WEEK.....I JUST NEED THE BASICS TO PISS AROUND ON THE INTERNET, BURN CDS AND DOWNLOAD PICS FROM A DIGITAL CAMERA.....I'VE LOOKED AT BEST BUY AND CIRCUT CITY AND THEY FEATURE THE EMACHINE...IS THAT PC ANY GOOD...IS THERE ANYWHERE YOU COMPUTER DORKS RECOMEND GOING JUST TO GET THE BASICS FOR A GOOD DEAL?

just make it easy on yourself and buy a baseline dell desktop (B110). i think they are only like $300 base now. that machine will do everything you need it to do.

They usually put up a good deal on a Dell PC every few days.

i'd say if you find someone that watches slickdeals forums a ton, give that person a budget of like 600 bucks and you'd have like the best computer out

i've seen some crazy ass shit people have done on that site

i'm selling my 1.8ghz 40gig dell with a pentium 4 processor, everything except the flat-panel monitor (and yes, this includes a printer) for $300 if you want, let me know
