Well it seems like Smashing Pumpkins weren't the only one of my old favorite bands to post news about getting back together yesterday.

Everclear has been reformed as a band but the only original member remaining is the lead singer Art Alexakis on guitar/vocals. The new band posted a single and news update on their myspace page yesterday: http://myspace.com/everclear

The single is called "Hater." If you have heard "Normal Like You" you will hear some similarities in the song.

The new Everclear have been doing a few local shows in Portland and they have been playing both new and old stuff.

i'm not listening to that clip but i'll say that with a new group of musicians they might actually write some songs that don't sound exactly the same this time around.

Nope, it's the other way around. I think Art picked people who just submit to his desires.

Saw them live when they were touring off SMFTA, and they were fucking great. Saw them live last year, and they blew.

The edge and the inventiveness they had on World of Noise, Sparkle & Fade, and SMFTA are gone.
