Anyone know if I can buy the GPS locator alone for Microsoft "Streets and Trips"?
If so, where? 4/23/2006 11:34:59 AM |

I couldn't find it. I had the original version and couldn't find a way to buy just the locator.

If you read through the information about Microsoft's GPS locator it mentions a bit about being compatible with some other brands, I think Garmin and some others. That may be more expensive than you are looking for, but it's an option. 4/23/2006 6:32:09 PM |

so you're saying that you simply want a GPS receiver that need not have any functions other than displaying coordinates? 4/23/2006 6:35:42 PM |

How does the location feature on a cell phone work? I didn't think it got a signal from the GPS satellites, or did it? 4/23/2006 6:36:05 PM |

The GPS receiver is a USB -GPS adapter for a computer. It simply receives the signal from all the GPS satellites. The program "Streets and Trips" contains all the software to convert the GPS reciever signal into information that Streets & Trips can display. 4/23/2006 7:04:57 PM |

i have been doing it for 3yrs now and haven't gotten in a wreck due to it - you just have to manage your attention
use a touchscreen and a one handed handheld playstation2 keyboard if you must for lots of typing4/24/2006 12:01:25 PM |
