for some reason when i rip this CD in WMP i can't save it to my hard disk. what am i missing?

in WMP settings change the output from your sound card to mp3? Or was that only for winamp?

rips to library, how do i get that saved to the hard disk?

in the interest of full disclosure it is the Colour and the Shape by the Foo Fighters, so it may be a bit too old to make that easy digital transition...

right click on one of them in the library and see where the file is

located in the album? its located at the optical drive?

it sounds like you didnt rip you, you just added to your library
