well so much so for the offense..

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/stewart_mandel/04/27/top.programs/index.html

5. N.C. State
Top prospects: DE Mario Williams, DE Manny Lawson, DT John McCargo
Talent factories (cont.)

Other likely picks: CB Marcus Hudson, LB Stephen Tulloch, LB Oliver Hoyte

What does it say about the Wolfpack's offense that despite boasting a defense that produced the top two defensive ends in this draft -- including potential No. 1 pick Williams -- and as many as six overall draftees, N.C. State went just 12-11 the past two seasons.

and we are above MIAMI..

i figured at least getting invited to the Senior Bowl would mean that a few teams were looking at him

Teams looked at TA too...

But the article lists guys who should be drafted. He may be drafted, yes, but it's a big maybe. So he wasn't included. They don't really care about marginal talents.

We didn't get blown out by 40+ points against LSU in a BCS bowl

I agree on the TA evaluation thing. and i think TJ is going 3rd round. Still think he will do ok. He is big isn't he? and a good catcher and blocker..

He's not that big (6'2" with a soft body)...and he's a mediocre catcher and a mediocre blocker.

This draft is LOADED with good tight ends.

TJ will go mid to late second day (possibly not at all).

Sean Berton was about the same talent wise, probably a little better, and he played a few years with the vikings. Not sure where he is at now though.

^^ Very well said. This is a draft full of solid TEs and TJ is not one of them. Most of the projections I've read have him in the 6-7th round or not being drafted at all.

The difference is those other programs have quality depth everywhere. We just had a few stars at a couple positions. It's also important to note how all of them developed into NFL caliber players while here. I think only Mario was obviously NFL bound when he got here.

Obviously, QB is a huge issue. QBs in the ACC have all sucked, recently. I suspect it has something to do with the class that left with rivers.

being invited to the senior bowl was probably a bad thing for TJ. He stunk it up some kinda horrible while there
