1. It's UNC
2. I guess it's like us playing 2 or 3 consecutive years in Clemson without having a return home game.

They have not won this thing yet.

Why would they this year?

UVA should not lose to Purdue and Miami should not lose to Northwestern.

Wisconsin is NASTY at home (3 home losses in '06. two of which were to UofI and IU)

UVa still has no inside game. Purdue is nothing but big men. Big men win

Oden will dominate Hansbrough and Jamar Butler will dominate Tywon Lawson. OSU over UNC

Northwestern is a scrappy defense-oriented team. Miami loves to turn the ball over. NU over The U

Quote :
"The Nation's Best Fans: The Big Ten has led the nation in total attendance in each of the last 29 years (through the 2004-05 season). During the 2005-06 campaign, the league broke the two-million mark in all games for the 14th straight year, while also reaching the one-million plateau for league games only for the 29th consecutive season. In 2005-06, a total of 2,186,322 patrons passed through the turnstiles for 176 games for an average attendance of 12,422. In league contests, 1,191,079 fans flocked to conference arenas for 88 games."

I wouldn't call them the best fans. They just have larger schools. I mean tOSU has over 50,000 students. Imagine if State had close to that number. We would have more alumni and that means more people to likely buy season tickets. So the fact that they have a 19k seat arena same as us is not as impressive.

so we only had 3 home losses last year (SHU, UNC, and BC). at least one of those losses wasn't to North Dakota Fucking State!

i said lucky, b/c there were a couple of games that Wisconsin came very close to losing. i distinctly remember a game around the time when they started hyping up the streak where Wisconsin had to have a last second or so shot to win the game.

their winning streak was quite an anomaly. i mean you'd expect a Duke, UNC, UConn, MSU even an Illinois to have such a streak, but not Wisconsin. not to downplay their program, they are a very good program with a good coach in Bo Rein. i'm just saying that they aren't exactly what i'd call an elite program with a ton of McD's AA's. i personally think they are a very underrated program.

yeah i know luck is part of a long win streak, i just simply meant that they seemed more lucky than what you'd think during that streak. i'm not bad mouthing Wisconsin. trust me i'm on your side. i thought that that was an amazing feat of theirs.

oh and that part when i was commenting on your statement about their 3 wins at home, and them being "NASTY" at home, i was simply trying to play devil's advocate by throwing out the State stat.

Monday, Nov. 27
Michigan at N.C. State- 7 p.m.- ESPN2 (could go either way, depending on the coach we get. either way it'll be a proving ground for the new coach.)

Tuesday, Nov. 28
Maryland at Illinois- 7 p.m.- ESPN (Illinois)

Florida State at Wisconsin- 7:30 p.m.- ESPN2 (FSU is coming on strong as of late, but i still see Wisconsin winnning this b/c they are at home.)

Penn State at Georgia Tech - 8 p.m.- ESPNU (GT)

Indiana at Duke-9 p.m.- ESPN (Duke)

Miami at Northwestern- 9:30 p.m.- ESPN2 (Miami)

Wednesday, Nov. 29
Michigan State at Boston College-7 p.m.-ESPN (hmm...don't really remember what these teams lost, but i don't know what they gained either. could go either way)

Virginia at Purdue-7:30 p.m.-ESPN2 (UVA. Leitao proved he's a good coach last year, and i see UVA continually improving.)

Iowa at Virginia Tech-8 p.m.-ESPNU (another wash)

Ohio State at North Carolina-9 p.m.-ESPN (UNC at home, but OSU with the advantage at Center. hmm...)

Clemson at Minnesota-9:30 p.m.-ESPN2 (another wash)

i just see it hard calling Big Ten victory this soon, especially considering the history of the Challenge. weren't many analysts predicting that the Big Ten would win it this year b/c the ACC was weak. we all saw how that turned out.

I really like the Duke love on ESPN, they say Duke-IU is the marquee game, how is that possible? Ohio State at UNC will be a top 5 matchup and at the worst top 10. Duke v. Indiana is a top 25 maybe....

Yeah who is Indiana still gonna have? Killingsworth is gone right?

Duke will probably be top 10, or at least top 15, but Indiana is probably gonna be like 15-20 at best.

tOSU had a home game last year too, someone has to play away.

I don't think Oden will be able to handle UNC that early in the year. Maybe if it was later on he would have a better chance. Oh don't get me wrong, he will block every single shot Hansjob takes, but UNC will just have too many weapons, and Oden isn't that great on offense yet.

I think we got our game, assuming we have someone coaching the team by then.

well maybe they mean in terms of Duke and Indiana being the more storied matchup. Ohio State isn't exactly known for their basketball crazy fanbase that Duke, UNC, State, Indiana, etc. are.

and OSU is gonna be nasty, but it'll be too early in the season for them to beat UNC

I don't think Oden will dominate Hansblow like many of you think. Hansblow simply doesn't get his shots blocked.

Everyone knows that he uses his superior post moves and when he gets the ball in the paint he'll pull his patented walk/spin to the other side of the rim for a layup. It's unblockable, thus negating Oden's shot blocking skills.

Hansblow>Oden that night.
