sadly the only recent picture I've taken of my cat doesn't really depict him doing all the entertaining things he does...but he IS purty...
And he comes when I call him, and he likes to play a stalking-cat version of peek-a-boo with me, and sometimes when he's startled he runs sideways and his tail fluffs up. 5/2/2006 9:59:14 PM |

The first cat is real! He looks funny because apparently he is a munchkin...so his legs are short. Here's another photo of him. and here's the whole set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/babykailan/sets/968657/ Those photos totally make me want my own munchkin. 5/2/2006 10:42:26 PM |

Well he might be a bad hunter, but from looking at various pics of munchkins online, it seems that they tend to be good at standing on their hind legs! 5/2/2006 10:51:36 PM |

i looked down and he was actually humping my foot (which was under the blanket)
i felt violated

Come on, ultra, when you start asking silly invidious questions it makes me feel like this:
Some of us are allergic to things besides cats...so I'm not necessarily suggesting taking medicine JUST for that. And besides, cats have a different effect than antidepressants. Side effects may include: fur on your clothes, trouble sleeping in the morning, and toilet paper strewn throughout the house.5/2/2006 11:33:17 PM |

Cat's Diary: DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting. DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair... must try this on their bed (again).
DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night.
DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was ... Hmmm. Not working according to plan .
DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws.
DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.
DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The Bird on the other hand has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time.

dog by far. cats are fairly self sufficient. as long as you leave out plenty of food and litter, you can leave a cat for several days if needed. dogs, that isn't an option unless you want to try to litter box train one (i wouldn't recommend that at all!). also, dogs typically require more attention, walking, playing, etc. cats can be fine for hours at a time by themselves. most cats like "alone time". vet stuff is about the same. cats eat less of course. they both have advantages and disadvantages. i love them both.

And to add on to what Queti said... some cats can be trained to use a toilet...therefore eliminating the litter box issue. I'm hoping to train my cat this summer... 5/3/2006 12:01:13 AM |

but that may be because i grew up with cats, even though they were outdoor cats, usually. but i <3 them.
all the cats in the thread are so pretty.... nice villain/hero laser zap paint job, supplanter.
and zip, your cat looks so...like the perfect bright orange cat. really cute.
our one indoors cat, that we have at the new house...Booooots. i miss him so much. he's still pretty active, but i think bringing him indoors, from kittendom outside made him a sleepy spoiled cat. he also had a bunch of brothers/sisters/cousins before, and now i can tell (when i'm home in gboro), when he goes through phases of hyperactivity/needing mucho attention.
