I bought an external enclosure for a hard drive and not 1 week after it had been running my hard drive cannot be accessed as it says "the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable"

This drive has my entire mp3 library as well as all the pictures I've taken over the last 4 years and if nothing else I'd like to burn them to dvd. Is there any way I can access these files. Damnit.

Probably easier for him to just let someone else do it.

If he knew what he was doing, he wouldn't be posting about his problem.

And quag isn't being unfair.

You're probably right on both accounts. It does seem like a good learning experence though.

true.

Just be careful "learning" on a hdd that has 4 years worth of pictures on it; DamnStraight

I'd screw around with another HDD before trying to recover a failed HDD that has meaningful data on it.

Isn't a bad deal at all...especially for the amount of data that is supposedly on it.
