It doesn't matter who you choose, you'll always get screwed. I'm with verizon, and they've screwed me a few times already. Charged me twice in one month because I added another line. They are trained to blow you off.
A friend used to work for Alltel's customer service told me that his sole job was to blow off people and give BS as much as possible until they gave up. They sat down in a meeting room, and his boss came in with brand new a 30" flat panel plasma TV and said that whoever is able to save the company the most money that month would win the TV. 5/5/2006 11:36:33 AM |

Has anyone noticed a huge number of dropped calls from Verizon all of a sudden? I've had them for about 4 years now and never had more than 1 or 2 calls dropped. Then about a week ago I was calling Wilmington from Nashville and couldn't talk for more than 20 seconds before it lost the call, and this happened the entire night. In the last few days, I've had several dropped.
I just hope this isn't the start of a trend, because I've been very satisfied otherwise 5/5/2006 2:01:40 PM |

Right around the time Hurricane Katrina hit, someone used my debit card to buy over $130 in prepaid minutes. I'd asked them to give me the name on the account that made the purchase - this way, if it was someone I knew, I could just get the money back. If I didn't know them, it would be hell to pay. Silly broad at Cingular says she won't give me the info, and transfers me to the prepaid dept. OK fine, right? WRONG. You can't even access the prepaid dept. unless you have a prepaid phone number.
Those charges aided in my bank account being over $700 in the hole, but I deferred to the bank and let them take care of it. I eventually won the money back, but it took over 60 days and a lot of headache. 5/6/2006 6:16:50 PM |

^^^how is rollover a joke?
it allows you to buy a minimal plan and pay less, because it's no big deal if you go over sometimes (as long as you don't do it constantly).

If you know someone at sprint you might want to look into the sero program. (http://www.sprint.com/sero) Its by far the best plan I have seen. After calling a few times I was finally able to get someone on the line that had heard of the program. This is what I currently get for 30 a month.

How is that?
Verizon's cheapest plan is similar to Cingular's at 39.99 - 450 daytime minutes, unlimited nights, unlimited "IN" calls, and 0.45 for additional minutes.
Except that Verizon does not offer rollover, and doesn't have as much coverage on the map as Cingular does.
And frankly speaking, all those claims about Verizon's coverage being the best seem bullshit to me. I have never dropped a call with Cingular for 3+ years, and just drove 1300 miles through some villages without getting anything less than 5 bars, and full GPRS signal all over.
Pretty much the best deal in the nation.5/7/2006 1:08:36 AM |
