well i tossed a used pioneer cd player in my ram today, but for some reason the low frequency woofers in the doors dont be playin, only the high fequency speakers in the door right above. rear speakers sonunding kinda weak too. before my stock player shitted the bucket, i had fulll range sound for sure, cant really test it with anything else right now in case the new used cd player is junk.

anyone got any ideas befoer i go taking door panels off and crawlin arouns with a multimeter?

does that one have a stock external amp? and also make sure he polarity is correct on all the speakers, that will really fuck up the passive crossover for the door speakers

polarity is correct for sure, but you might be right on the external amp cuse it's been popping up on google.. i thought that was only for the new ones but ill look into it

where would the amp be located?

good question, probably under the seat. they have been using external amps with the infinity systems since the early 90's, the best way around that is juist to get some good speakers, new passive crossovers, and some good twisted pair speaker wire, and run everything new from the headunit, chrysler stereo systems arent really known for quality

It's the wiring; you need a particular harness to retain that amp...

For the record, we usually do amp bypasses with those systems.

yeah i took the door speaker out, it got a crossover circuit on the back of it and got four wires running into it..

^ so whats the best way for me to deal with it? where would i fund a harness and for how much?

also if i do amp bypass do i just commnect the teminals on the back of the woofer with the wires goin to the lil high range? is there a crossover between the radio and the high range?

there should be a wire that is essentially an amp "turn-on" if you have a stock amp. There needs to be a wire that sends a signal to the amp when the radio is on. The amp signal wire on the aftermarket radio needs to tap into this amp "turn-on" wire in the factory harness.

^bingo

i thought so too at first, and there was not a wire that does that

now that you said that i went out there and tried all the spare wires, and the one labeled Power Antenna in the wiring diagram is the one that turns on the amp.

thanks for you help everyone
