if i lost my plate and didnt have insurance on my bike do i still get fined for the insurance lapse? do i have to pay for new registration on the bike when i get the new plate?

if you lose your plate, you have to notify the dmv.

according to the DMV, you still have a plate and are registered. when you notify, you will either get a new plate or drop registration.

if you dropped insurance before dropping registration, you are eligible for a fine.

so the fee would be the same (50 dollars) as finding my plate and paying the fee and throwing insurance on the bike, gotcha
