maybe i'm completely missing something... but he just seemed to give the typical "i didn't get the job, here's my required props to the guy who did"...

everything else in that was written by someone else... paired with a picture showing Whittenburg in an irritated state... completely meant to give an impression that he's angry about being snubbed...

now, he coudl very well be angry, but there is absolutely nothing there to suggest that thats' the case... everything in there that isn't in quotes was added by a writer who didn't even put his name on it...

but on the other hand, if you were the rich dude giving the massive amounts of money to the university that he does, you'd probably want some influence as well.

it's not right, but money is everything to our athletics program. if we were to lose a booster like murphy, we'd take a massive hit. you don't get facilities like we have without those guys.

but i agree that it's not fair. in this case i'm glad if murphy caused us not to hire whit and go with lowe instead though, i think lowe is a much better option. nothing against whit, but i think lowe knows just the right things to say, and his experience(s) serve as an excellent recruiting tool.
