sorry they're all like that you're gonna have to get someone to cosign the lease....probably your parents...it's terribly demeaning 5/12/2006 1:59:29 PM |

it's rediculous, like i have seriously gone through 2 tanks of gas apartment searching, like if they are cocks on the credt thing why not at least offer an online applications to save the hassle. damn. 5/12/2006 4:41:07 PM |

Go with a private landlord. Find a student, usually a grad student or something, that owns a house or apt. and is renting out a room in it. That's been best for me - I've had problems with all of the "company" landlords I"ve had, but the private landlords have been great; plus it helps out a fellow student. 5/12/2006 4:45:36 PM |

^thats what i have done since i've been in NC ie:jan1 2005, it was easy trying to find larger houses but seems almost impossible to find a landlord for a 1 bdrm. if anyone has a good ref. for me that would be excellent. 5/12/2006 4:55:05 PM |

If you were responsible with your credit, you wouldn't have this issue. I have perfect credit & have never had any issues with getting a place.
Why the hell would a landlord want a bum who doesn't give a rat's ass about paying their bills? I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to rent to someone like that
But as previously said, w/o a cosigner, you'll have to find a private owner. 5/12/2006 4:56:30 PM |

^^I'm 22 and have never needed a credit card or line of credit for that matter. bought my vehicle cash. i work for a living. there is a big ass difference between having "bad credit" and not having any credit at all. but thanx for the life lessons, much appreciated and def. helps with the apartment search. 5/12/2006 5:41:11 PM |

It's not so much about credit as income. I suspect you've been denied because you don't have enough income. You'll need a consignor. 5/12/2006 6:26:05 PM |

^nope, between the g/f and i we make just under a $1000 a week during summer when i'm not in class. u only need to have 3 times the rent monthly. it's based on the credit which is why i was seeing if anyone lived somewhere where they didn't check credit. 5/12/2006 9:09:12 PM |

^yeah, about that, my bad there buddy. unfortunately my mother has shittier credit than i do. I don't have a mommy with a good job and a BMW. I'm a Scholarship/Financial Aid baby. If it was that easy would i have really posted to TWW to find someplace who doesn't check credit. Obviously your parents are getting their moneys worth. 5/12/2006 9:16:10 PM |

you dont need to make a lot of money to establish a good credit history. they should be able to pass the credit check just because they are old and have been establishing their credit for a long time.
i mean you already said that you make more money than they need to see. 5/12/2006 9:21:51 PM |

naw man, i've got no good cosigner. havn't been home since i left for college. seriously though, there has got to be some decent complex that doesn't require great credit. i mean, it seems like if you make more than enough to pay rent in one week then that should be sufficient 5/12/2006 9:27:27 PM |
