why would something like this be a bad idea?

if i have a spare 140x 4gb compact flash card, and this thing only costs $10, what's the disadvantage? at first i thought a 140x card couldn't compete with a ata133 eide hd, but maybe i'm wrong?

yes, i'm stupid.

It's only as fast as the cable going to it...

i just thought it would be kind of cool...since the flash memory has no moving parts, and doesn't get hot like an hd does, i thought it might be a cool way to boot a computer...winxp pro installed doesn't even take up 3gb on my computer, so a 4gb card would be plenty...they also have one that is directly inserted into the ide slot instead of doing it like this where you need a cable

*shrug*
