90 Ford Econoline 150, 351W, E4OD... jasper engine and transmission with ~11k on them, 112k on van

This thing is getting on my nerves- when you take off, or even sitting in park just free-revving, it has a noticable stumble off idle.... if you punch the throttle fast it will backfire through the intake sometimes- easing into it will just result in roughness

what i've done so far- new plugs/wires/cap/rotor/msd coil/fuel filter/air filter cleaned egr, tried a new map sensor, set timing to factory, then about everywhere else..... cussed alot
runs perfect at idle, and cruise/wot

my next guess is tps...

I'd test the TPS with a multimeter next. Double check that there is 5V on the reference wire with the key on, then test the voltage between the signal wire and the signal return (ground) wire on the TPS harness. Watch the voltage as you open the throttle slowly - the voltage should gradually increase. If it jumps around, the TPS is shot.

thanks for the suggestions.... checked the tps and it is fine
the problem turned out to be the old egr valve was still leaking when closed.

fabbed a block-off plate for it and now this thing runs perfect.. probably picked up 50hp or more

floor it and no hesitation, just tire smoke
