you could buy a 360 now and save up for a hdtv. you can get some really cheap used ones on craigslist. might not be the best ones, but they'll work for your purposes (crt's are heavy, but lotta ppl sell them to get something nicer, and they last a while).

Honestly, I'd consider getting a projector. I have an Infocus 4805. You can find them on ebay lightly used for $~350 and new for ~$600. I don't know exactly how much you had planned on spending on a 32 inch non-HD, but that couldn't be too much more.

Right now I have a 60+ inch picture on my wall, and while it's not true HD (it downsamples everything to some weird, 560i or something) I can't tell much difference. Especially sitting 10 feet away on the couch. The xbox 360 looks pretty damn good on it, IMO.

It's just one option, and one that not a lot of people think about, but it's something to consider.

you dont have to have HD to play 360 altho it certainly helps

btw for hdtv's check out sam's club or costco or a place like that

i got a 47" HDTV for like $1100 and this was about 2 years ago

its not plasma or anything but its hi-def and it was affordable relative to a lot of the plasmas and LCD sets

do you have a flat screen computer monitor? Get a 40 dollar VGA cable (probably cheaper on ebay). I use it with a 1280x1024 sony 17" flat panel with xBrite and it works like a dream...

they have such terrible reviews online i was actually worried about buying them. perhaps it is the outspoken minority, but EVERY reveiw site i had said how terrible they were. if they replaced it quickly and without hastle but sent out broken ones a lot it wouldnt bother me, but supposedly taking a month or two to right their wrongs seems shady.
