So if you're a Bible-thumper who's scared shitless by homosexuals, Mexicans and taxes, this thread is for you. If you're a bleeding heart who hates the NSA, free markets and Big Oil, this thread is for you. If you're a history major who actually makes comparisons between the USA and Rome, or Bush and Hitler, or Iraq and Vietnam, this thread is for you. And if you wear a tinfoil hat, use the word 'edomite' more than once in everday conversation, or think the world is being run by a global cabal but you alone have somehow managed to figure out "the truth," this thread is for you.

All those people though, with their complaining and mongering, add up with each other, and help keep things on track.

It's really the people who think "yeah, every thing's fine" and just sit back and relax who contribute to a demise, if one is to come. Progress doesn't happen by itself, it has to be enacted, and the people who enact it aren't the ones who think things are good.

But, things usually aren't as bad as the zealots make it out to be. This is often just a political tactic to gain short-term support, and it works.
