If you live farther North there's a goodwill on 401 just after you get on from Capital, Corner of New Light or New Light Church (always get those two confused). Also Six Forks and Strictland I think is still there. 5/19/2006 3:25:30 PM |

That's not a goodwill or a charity if that's important, and I haven't seen it. Did they move it? I was trying to find it last weekend.
There's a goodwill on 321 W. Hargett Street. You can drop stuff off in the back at 9-5 Monday through Saturday. They'll give you a receipt for taxes based on how many bags/boxes of stuff you drop off.5/19/2006 4:45:51 PM |

If they're name brand and in good condition, you can try selling them at Plato's Closet in Crossroads. They're kind of picky though. 5/20/2006 1:01:10 PM |

I've heard you shouldn't take things to those drop off boxes. I think those go to for-profit stores, so I always go to the Salvation Army. 5/20/2006 3:51:46 PM |

Was thinking about this the other day... I just lost a good chunk of weight and my old clothes no longer fit me so I was buying new ones. I'm a big guy (6'5" 255) and have a ton of trouble finding clothes to fit... can't imagine how much it would suck for someone that is poor/homeless that is my size who doesn't have the ability to basically buy whatever clothes they want that are out there. 5/21/2006 1:08:09 AM |
