If you live farther North there's a goodwill on 401 just after you get on from Capital, Corner of New Light or New Light Church (always get those two confused). Also Six Forks and Strictland I think is still there.

That's not a goodwill or a charity if that's important, and I haven't seen it. Did they move it? I was trying to find it last weekend.

There's a goodwill on 321 W. Hargett Street. You can drop stuff off in the back at 9-5 Monday through Saturday. They'll give you a receipt for taxes based on how many bags/boxes of stuff you drop off.

If they're name brand and in good condition, you can try selling them at Plato's Closet in Crossroads. They're kind of picky though.

I've heard you shouldn't take things to those drop off boxes. I think those go to for-profit stores, so I always go to the Salvation Army.

Was thinking about this the other day... I just lost a good chunk of weight and my old clothes no longer fit me so I was buying new ones. I'm a big guy (6'5" 255) and have a ton of trouble finding clothes to fit... can't imagine how much it would suck for someone that is poor/homeless that is my size who doesn't have the ability to basically buy whatever clothes they want that are out there.
