I have what may be a dumb question, but i couldnt find the answer to it on google.

can i place 256mb of 2700 ddram and 256mb of 3200 ddram in the same computer and the ram work?

yeah. they will both run at 2700 though

i got a similar question too. if i use a 512mb and a 256mb 2700 ddr, is there some kind of performance hit? i've heard you should use 2x256 or 2x512.

The RAM only has to be symmetric for dual channel. The performance hit for asymmetric is so low that you'll never notice.

^ unless you are using shared RAM/VRAM (integrated graphics).

If you have a graphics card then it is no big deal - if you are running internal graphics then you need all the RAM speed you can get.
