Seriously, this game is shit. I have it set on the hardest level and I'm still beating teams 10-2. I've adjusted the sliders attempting to get more realistic game play and nothing works.

I have also manually editted all rosters so they reflect the teams as of the begining of the season and as trades were made I adjusted them more. This game is complete shit.

I should have never bought it when it game out and gotten the 2K game instead.

Yeah, from what I hear 2k6 absolutely blows it out of the water. Unfortunately for me, I don't have a console, and they don't make 2k6 for the PC. Fortunately for me, some guy released an awesome mod for NHL 06 for the PC. It makes the gameplay so much better and more realistic, and there are also patches that people made to make all of the arenas look more authentic with the right boards and surface, and patches for authentic goalie masks. The dynasty mode is a lot better in 06 than 05, at least.

Now just one moment. I think a hockey zombie game has enourmous pontential. Especially if you franchise that shit.

Zombie football!
Zombie basketball!
Zombie tennis!
Zombie four square!
Zombie women's tennis!

Yeah. Awesome.

Also, I enjoy NHL '06.

nhl 2k6 is the bomb diggity. It has its share of connection problems on xbox live(i don't think its just me, other games work fine), but its still pretty good.

the 360 version is definitely not 360 worthy, like its not a true 360 game. they basically put nhl 2k6 from xbox with a few adjustments on a 360 disk...ive played 3 games so far, reminds me of playing nhl games back in the day but its the best you can do for hockey on the 360 for now...

i still haven't gotten the hang of this game on the tougher difficulties (xbox).

i play with the hurricanes and every team is better than me and they are usually close games...maybe i need to practice more...lol

you guys use more slap shots or wrist shots or what?

[Edited on May 23, 2006 at 4:31 PM. Reason : not 360]

I prefer wristers and one timers.

I love playing 2K6. I use some heavily modified sliders, and it works out just right for me. It's very rewarding when you can score, and it's rare that I get more than four goals, and the computer always stays close too. The only bad part about my sliders is that I can't get a decent breakaway in the game, as the computer always seems to be faster and can catch up. Can't get enough of it.

My entire video game hockey offense consists of one-timers and point blank slap shots that no player would actually attempt.

Here's my current lineup with the Hurricanes in my NHL 06 dynasty. The year is 2009.

LW - Ray Whitney (he is absolutely INSANE in this game)
C - Eric Staal (scored 50 goals in 50 games lol)
RW - Pavel Kloucek (rookie I drafted)
D - Oleg Tverdovsky (also awesome in this game)
D - Dion Phaenuf (traded for him)

LW - Matt Cullen
C - Doug Weight (traded for him)
RW - Marian Gaborik (traded for him)
D - Kimo Timonen (signed as a free agent)
D - Danny Richmond

LW - Nicklas Bergfors (traded for him)
C - Rod Brind'Amour
RW - Justin Williams
D - Frantisek Kaberle
D - Aaron Ward

LW - Kyle Wanvig
C - Kevyn Adams
RW - Craig Adams

G - Al Montoya (traded for him)
G - Martin Gerber

Getting back to Whitney; the coding for the attributes is really stupid. The speed attribute doesn't matter that much; what really matters is the size of the player. Staal is really big so he's not fast at all, but Ray Whitney is really tiny, so he is ridiculously fast. He is second in the league in points right now in my dynasty.

^^

To keep myself from doing that, I adjusted one timers to be harder to pull off. I think I average 1-2 one timers a game. I just go with quick wristshots and a few slaps from the point.

I have NHL2k6 for the 360 and its pretty awesome

what it lacks in graphics, it makes up for in gameplay and gameplay modes

Here is my line up year 2 (2007)

LW - Erik Cole
C - Matt Cullen
RW - Mark Recchi
D - Mike Commodore
D - Oleg Tverdovsky

LW - Corey Stillman
C - Eric Staal
RW - Valeri Bure (beast in the game, traded for him)
D - Frank Kaberle
D - Jack Johnson

LW - Andrew Ladd
C - Roddy Brind'Amour
RW - Doug Weight
D - Brett Hedican
D - Derrick Walser

LW - Ray Whitney
D - Joe Wasicek
RW - Justin Williams

G - Martin Gerber
G - Cam Ward

I actually spent the time to adjust every player and add the players into the game. Completed that in about 7 hours.

I just got fired for 92 goals with one player instead of 93. Stupid fucking goal.

I made the fucking playoffs with the best record in the NHL and I get fired.

fuck that.

I'm probably going to get fired after this season because my goal is to have the best penalty kill in the league and that's impossible to do with the real time powerplays.

the goals they give you are retarded. I won the cup last year and get fired the next year for not breaking the NHL record.

fuck that.

Seriously. I can't believe I gave my copy away way back when.

Great graphics AND great frame rate, fairly balanced gameplay, and most importantly, the ability to turn the goalies all the way down and the skaters all the way up with two sliders and play first to 25 goals.

2k6 is great.. it does have a few bugs, but nothing too bad. The best feature is being able to burn the Rick Flair mp3 to a cd along with Song 2 and making it the after-goal music at the RBC center.. :-)

the only ways to score

deke/juke til the goalie falls, go top shelf
one timers of all sorts
slap shots from the point, gotta go middle stick side
deflections

I traded for a BUNCH of players. Drury, kariya, semin, ozolinsch, holmstrom, reinprecht, deadmarsh
