Since there's a FIFA thread, there should be a WE thread...it's the only game I play these days.

I've just gone back and played them all due to insomnia. In the following order:

WE8: Manchester United 1-0 Chelsea - Van Nistelrooy
WE7: Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea - Van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand
WE6: Manchester United 3-2 Chelsea - Blanc (!), Van Nistelrooy, Veron / Desailly, Hasselbaink
WE9: Manchester United 2-3 Chelsea - Giggs (2) / Drogba, Joe Cole (2)

I've played hundreds upon hundreds of WE matches and have yet to master the game. Great fucking gameplay is what this franchise is all about.

It's also interesting to see the advances in the Dutch and FIFPro licenses, among other things. In WE6, Ruud was "Oranges032". In WE7, he was "Von Mistelroum", and finally "Van Nistelrooy" in WE8/9.

My real team is Northampton Town, but they tend not to put recently-promoted-from-the-Third-Division sides in video games.

I only decided to play United/Chelsea because I was watching the replay of the 11/9/05 match on FSC and it seemed like as good a fixture as any to play.

The only emotional attachment I have to United now that Timmy is probably going to Everton is in the form of Jonathan Spector.

WE plays like a soccer game. FIFA is hockey on grass. The gameplay in WE is a million times better, but if you only care about graphics and licenses, you can stick with FIFA.

And yes, Spector was loaned to Charlton a while back, but he's still United property.
