the reasons i don't like barry are:

1. He knowingly put a foreign substance in/on his body to counter the effects of aging in his problem leg and to give himself an unrivaled advantage in delivering power on contact. (The taking of one swing of the bat after using steroids makes his career accomplishments "fruit of the poisoned tree" and diminishes their signifigance, recognition, and importance)
2. He denies #1.
3. He blames his problems on other people when he should look no further than himself.
4. He pulls the race card because people do not bow down before him.
5. He is an asshole.

We should probably put an asterisk on Ruth too... he hit his homeruns in a park with the fence about 100 feet closer in at the lines than pretty much all modern parks. Ruth also didn't hit against "roid bush league hack" pitchers that could throw 90mph sliders. Get over it and appreciate his amazing career (the 'roids are only a factor for a fraction of his Hall of Fame numbers)

Gaylord Perry was an admitted cheater which directly affect5ed the outcome of the game yet he is sill in the Hall of Fame. Wille Mays is widely known to have used amphetamines for energy during games (a bottle of "red juice") yet he is still in the Hall of Fame and considered one of the best ever.
