Dutch alarmed by paedophile group

A political party with a paedophile agenda has been registered in The Netherlands, prompting outrage among many parts of society.

The party plans to push for a cut in the legal age for sexual relations to 12 from 16 and for legalisation of child pornography and sex with animals.

The Charity, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party says it promotes freedom of speech and will stand in May elections.

MPs say they will ask the government to do something to stop the new party.

The Charity, Freedom and Diversity Party says it intends to "shake The Hague awake".

Taboos

The party says its aim is to break taboos and fight intolerance. Its members say they want paedophilia to be freely discussed, arguing that a ban just makes children curious.

They claim the subject has been a taboo since the 1996 Marc Dutroux child abuse scandal in Belgium.

They also want to break the "negative" stigma surrounding paedophilia by getting into parliament.

But the NVD says it is not just a one-issue party. It also wants children from the age of 12 to be able to vote; it promotes the legalisation of hard and soft drugs and free train travel for all.

The fact that they're still advocating age restrictions means they're pussy ass pedophiles.

They don't have the whole delusional, "FREE THE CHILDREN! LET CHILDREN OF ALL AGES HAVE SEX WITH WHOEVER THEY WANT!" These people just wanna bang 12-year-olds.

^ As I understand it, the Libertarians want to do away with the unconstitutional parts of the Federal Government. I have not heard them, the political wing not the ideological wing, proclaim a wish to do away with local government, which is responsible for making and enforcing laws such as these.

^^^ My point was that libertarians are not anarchists, they still predominantly believe in a night-watchman state making and enforcing laws to protect life, limb, and property. I suspect most would put laws preventing pedophilia in the "limb" category. Or, perhaps, as children are technically our property until age 18, such laws may be protecting "property" in an odd way.

"This case is yet another illustration of how important it is for parents to supervise their children's use of Internet," says CBS News technology analyst Larry Magid, a longtime activist on behalf of safety for children online. "It's not unusual for a person with a very respectable job to be caught up in Internet crimes against children," says Magid. "We've had cases of police officers, clergy, teachers, youth leaders, doctors — people from all walks of life — who have been arrested on similar charges. Predators don't necessarily look and act any different from the rest of us, which is why kids need to be very careful." There was no immediate response to messages left on Doyle's government-issued cell phone and his e-mail, and he could not be reached by phone at the jail for comment. A source told CBSNews.com that while working in a previous position, managers discovered that Doyle had been looking at pornography on a receptionist's computer late at night. He admitted to the incident, was reprimanded, and was asked to give a formal apology to staffers, the source said. "
