we let it die...
i went out there today and that place is damned fun i cut a 36.3 on my first trip out there but i didn't really have to try hard i was with some people who would spin themselves out so i sorta turned it into a drift fest. 6/2/2006 4:53:00 AM |

i went there a while back.
its wierd getting use to those karts. but yeah, i dont like how they all get bunched up. it is hard to cut a good time with a full pack of racers. 6/2/2006 8:17:22 AM |

yeh its pretty fun. the steering was so tight i bumped into both walls leaving the pit. hah.
i think i weigh too much though. they bog on accell and the tires hop on tight turns

So if anybody's been karting at a real kart race, I'd like to know how these places compare. I can't help but feel that though it's a descent place, it's only a step up from say, adventure landing. I would like to see shifter karts, personally... Ahmet 6/2/2006 11:26:59 AM |

its not that fun. they should try autox. its faster, cheaper, and more fun. albeit more time consuming 6/2/2006 1:48:45 PM |

hahahaha not when its your gas, your tires and your car (when something breaks)
race carts are still a bit faster
and these things bog when you spin out of the turn... try not to break the rear tires loose coming out cause it allows the clutch to lock up and it brings the revs way way way down on the motor.
btw i think we might head back tonight?

^ you're running your car, using your gas (to get there/back and during), putting wear and tire on your car, using rubber.
no, autox is not cheaper.
*EDIT* Looks like someone beat me to it.

you're doing it wrong if you're not having fun. you can go faster at an autox sure. but karting is cheaper & you get to run consecutive laps, not a single lap & then wait an hour.6/3/2006 10:35:35 AM |

Me and a couple friends were running mid to low 33's our first trip out there. Some old dude in our run group was running 32's consistently. 6/3/2006 11:16:27 AM |

yeah i think the owner is the only one in the 32s... i'd love to follow his line around there a couple times 6/3/2006 11:24:11 AM |

What do these little toys top out at? I've driven a couple batouttahell methanol carts in the past so I'd imagine that I'd be disappointed. 6/3/2006 5:52:56 PM |

they drive enough to get you past the limit on the track... you can slide the rear end out in any turn thats all i really wanted the lame carts where you just floor it the whole way around piss me off and i was wrong the owner isn't the only one in the 32s.
i have the whole track down cept that fucking chicane i always lose the rear end on the way out 6/3/2006 6:04:34 PM |

the whole track is pretty much one strait line. well 2 strait lines.
then youve got that damned u turn. where the acceleration is slow as hondas.
wait, hondas are fast 6/3/2006 8:13:42 PM |

you can do poorly on the entire course but if you do well on the chicane... you'll beat all your friends 6/4/2006 3:08:36 AM |

there are 2 sections (maybe 3, i dont remember) of the track where you can keep it flat footed through the whole thing.
