I will have ESPNU by then hopefully.

That channel should be in standard packages.

^No, it's another waste of a channel so ESPN can corner the market more. It should be on local channels.

So annoying...I want DishHD but I don't want "HD Lite" and I don't wanna pay $100+/month just for television and hafta pay even more for some source of internet.

EDIT: Is there anything like mlb.tv for college football and/or basketball? I'd gladly pay to watch the games on the PC.

^^Yes, ESPN FullCourt (basketball) and ESPN GamePlan (football) are available over the internet. However, games on ESPNU are not available on those packages.

Well Ive heard Dish HD is nowhere near as bad as DirecTV HD...and its not like TWCs HD is such high quality. I want to find somewhere I can go to see Dish HD for myself because Im getting increasingly frustrated with TWCs lack of adding anything worth a damn over the past 2 years.

^ I'm not talking about Time Warner, I'm talking about the Charter cable service I'll have once I move outta here in 3 weeks.

the interface of charter is about 300 times better than timewarner

but the lack of some channels is kind of annoying

just to let you guys know

espn, espn2, espn classic, espnU

they are all going to become pay channels through time warner cable real soon

kind of like the movie channels and the packages they do for those

you will have to pay extra for the espn package

^^^ I think hes referring to al a carte legislation, which is gaining steam but is far from going into effect. Basically, you pay for the channels you want, which means lots of savings for people who dont care about sports, but for those of us that do, we will probably end up picking up the slack.

Last I heard Charter didnt even offer HD, so youre probably better off with Dish (and I double checked, Dish doesnt do the "HD-lite" deal like DirecTV does).

I have Charter in Atlanta. We have HD channels. No ESPN2HD or ESPNU though. The only cable company with ESPNU that I know of is Adelphia.

I think that might just be negotiating for a lower price. I think ESPN charge the most out of most name-brand cable stations. Which, when you think of their empire, I'm sure it would cost a lot. No one would miss Classic or ESPN-U (the latter you'll only want for one or two games for the whole year).

I can't wait for a la carte. I could have 20-25 channels tops and would be happy.

just so long as i get to pick from EVERYTHING. i could see now its gonna be something like you have to get the chennels nobody watches and then news, movies, entertainment, and sports be the optional channels. i want to be able to deduct fox family, wgn, lifetime, qvc and all that stupid shit.
