Mapquest says 17 to the crazy detour through Edenton (Won't be taking that) and then on the 64-Bypass. If I remember 17 is a slow ride and travels through all those towns. Is there a faster route to Nags Head? 6/6/2006 3:52:59 PM |

I have pondered this route myself.
17 is probably the best.
I'd almost say hit 117 and find a route from there but thats an hour up 40 near faison. 6/6/2006 3:57:09 PM |

i remember when i was in high school i drove all the way from Hatteras to near rocky mount in like 3 hours
i left at 3am and drove at least 90 the whole way since there was no traffic or any other cars in sight
then i got pulled over on 64 right before 95 for a 109/65 6/6/2006 4:08:52 PM |

oh I think because that was when US 64 was still two-lane through that segment and it was slow going in the summer time, now there is a new 70mph bypass from the end of Plymouth to the bridge at Columbia for US 64, it is very nice. 6/6/2006 8:15:27 PM |
