There were no laser guided bombs used in the strike. the bombs used in the strike were JDAM. While the video of the strike came from a circling a/c's laser designator, the bombs were gps guided.

Might he have been outside when the bomb exploded? Or perhaps he was in a different section of the compound when it blew up? He may have been killed by falling rubble, or the shockwave, or bleeding to death, or he hit his head? There are a thousand scenarios that allow for one to die in a blast without being blown to bits.
